CERT NZ say they have reports of people receiving phone calls which appear to be from 0800 CERT NZ (0800 2378 69), which is CERT NZ’s official phone number.
The scammer directs the recipient to download a piece of software and go to a fake website to provide more information.
CERT NZ say they will never initiate unsolicited contact with you via the 0800 CERT NZ number.
They recommend you do not answer the call, and if you do, do not follow their instructions.
